He was an elegant man who made elegant clothes–America's purveyor of lady. Needless to say. I'm saddened by the passing of the one-and-only Oscar de la Renta. I've heard some comment that "he had a full life," noting that his age of 82 seems like an appropriate departure point. Conversely, I can't help but feel that he had more to give. Take last month's debut of his spring collection: it's the epitome of feminine sophistication, signature Oscar. His life was full and he contributed much, but I'll continue to miss what could have been.
"Known for his appropriate elegance, he always designed with the ultimate motivation that women must look and feel beautiful." - Andre Leon Talley
Mr. de la Renta, you will be missed.
