Interiors: At Home With Joseph Dirand
You've seen his work everywhere, but how does the architect himself live? For its spring design issue, T Magazine takes us inside the home of Joseph Dirand–a beautifully minimal Parisian apartment shared by his girlfriend and two daughters. The designer admits that he didn't approach the space as "a project" (i.e., something to show clients or be photographed for the New York Times), but sought to create a home where he could simply enjoy life. "It's not a décor," notes Dirand, "...it's a real home."
Whether project or real home, I think I love it.
I especially appreciate his design philosophy and the thoughtfulness behind each decision. From a palette of not-quite-whites to the simplicity of a wooden box, learn more about what makes this apartment work and designer tick over on the New York Times.
